1st Generation Toyota Tundra Knock Sensor Location
My truck is given me that code.
1st generation toyota tundra knock sensor location. 210000 and still going strong. Most pinging are not caused by a defective knock sensor. Started my truck after 5 days of sitting up and engine light traction control TC light vehicle stability control VSC off light were all on.
Code suggested knock sensor. Tacomas 1995-2004 Welcome to Tacoma World. Anyway it wasnt the knock sensor at all.
Just under the middle passenger side of the head and the driver side. Location of knock sensor on 1994 toyota 22vre engine. Sits the knock sensor and harness.
RAV41 First Generation 1994-2000 Models 41 Faults Fixes. I checked continuity of sensor there is none good and made sure it was installed tightly. The location of the knock sensor depends entirely on how effective it will be in catching the noise an engine makes.
The location of a knock sensor is on the engine block cylinder head or intake manifold. And if it throws the code because of my rear suspension causing noise that the ECm isnt programmed to find acceptable. However there are a few vehicles that may not have the knock sensor.
So from my experience the only thing that sets a light for a knock sensor on Toyotas is if a rat has gotten in there and chewed up the wires going to the sensors. I discovered mice had chewed the wire going to the 1 sensor in two. This seemed to make it happy for the last 13000 miles.
