2002 Toyota Tundra Trailer Lights Not Working

If the trailer lights work on your buddys truck then the trailer lights work - period.

It separates the trucks turn signals from the brake lights and combines them on the trailers harness. Interestingly I bought a lcd tester that you plug into the 4 pin connection it worked. Asked by JamesDean in Poway CA on July 03 2010.

On the Tundra the white wire is the ground on both connectors find the corresponding wire on the trailer connector and ensure it is connected to the trailer. You have to use a socket wrench to loosen both bolts that hold fuse in place by clamping down on both sides of fuse legs. I have a 2002 Tundra with a factory installed hitch.

Post Reply Nov 13 2016 at 1021 AM 1 1 pgeorge33 OP New Member Joined. The trailer lights stopped working. The brake lights work reverse and signal work just fine just not the tail lights when I turn the headlight switch on.

I hooked up a newer trailer to my Tundra for the first time everything worked fine for about ten minutes then turning off the freeway the turn signals did not work so I checked the 20amp fuse and it was ok. If they dont work then as Toxarch says your trailer has a bad ground.
