Ive been reading many posts on this wonderful site as well as others devoted to toyota trucks as Ive got the blinking orange light - 4wd problem as well on my 2002 Sequoia SR5 that Ive owned since buying it 8 years ago next month brand new - 79000 miles on it. Page 106 of your owners manual gives you the method for engaging 4wd with the button. The problem but theorize that its the 4wd actuator.

Its a good idea to check your owners manual to find out exactly what the flashing light means in this situation. I would check the connectors to ensure they are properly engaged and that there are no broken wires. If youre not moving the teeth in the front differential may not line up and engage leaving you in 2wd which should also be indicated by a flashing 4wd light.
Occasoinly there is a ginding noise coming from the front that roughly sounds like a tire rubbing against the body or chassis. I have this toy and the 4wd is inop The question I have is there another way to diag. 2011 toyota tundra 4x4 SR5 - 12000 miles on it.
It has however been determined that currently the vehicle is NOT in 4wd when the light blinks. But the indicator lights continue to blink. And the only light that is flashing is 4 Lo.
